Aerial Development Group has hired its first chief investment officer to provide veteran financial leadership as the infill developer grows.
Yogi Dougher joined from First Advantage Bank, whose Nashville office he opened and led. He brings more than 30 years of real estate and financial experience to his role managing and monitoring Aerial’s investment activity, financial relationships and land acquisitions.
Dougher’s hiring comes as Aerial, under CEO Britnie Turner’s watch, has grown into a residential and commercial development firm with $30 million in annual revenues and $90 million in developing assets.
His background should come in handy as the company prepares to tackle larger projects, including its first multifamily building in the Wedgewood-Houston area. Aerial also is planning the 62-home East Greenway Park cottage development on 10 acres in the Rosebank neighborhood in East Nashville, and it has a deal pending to add 450 apartment units at five properties in cities outside Nashville.
In a statement, Turner called Dougher, with whom Aerial already had a relationship in his previous bank job, a trusted adviser and mentor who provides a wealth of knowledge and a wide network of contacts.
Dougher also is co-host for WTVF-TV’s weekly “Real Estate, Real Talk” educational and call-in show and is an instructor and speaker for Real Estate Investors of Nashville. His background also includes jobs at US Bank, The Bank of Nashville and First Union/Wachovia Bank and as managing partner of Angel Capital Group, a role in which he helped start-ups to get funding through a network of angel investors.
