Developer seeks rezoning for WeHo mixed-use project

SoBro-based Aerial Development Group will go before the Metro Planning Commission today to request a rezoning that would allow for a mixed-use building to be located near the Wedgewood-Houston district.

If the commission approves the specific plan zoning for what is being called Wedgewood Lofts, Aerial would take a step toward its first large-scale project. To date, the company has focused on single-family infill homes in Nashville’s urban neighborhoods.

Planning Department staff recommends approval of the request subject to approval of a related policy amendment.

As presently designed, Wedgewood Lofts would offer 150 units with approximately 10,000 square feet of commercial retail space fronting Wedgewood Avenue. The site is located about 750 feet west of Bransford Avenue and about six blocks south of the WeHo epicenter. Aerial has yet to release a image of the building.

Civil Site Design Group is handling engineering and land planning efforts for Aerial.
